Terms of Use

These terms apply when you install and use Zee Mail, the mail client that connects to your organisation's Zimbra mailbox on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.

Last updated: 2 October 2026 · App version 1.0.0

1. Acceptance

By installing or using Zee Mail you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Use of the app is also governed by your organisation's internal rules and information security policy. Where these conflict, your organisation's rules prevail.

2. Licence

We grant you a licence to install and use the app on devices you own or that your organisation manages, for the purpose of accessing your own Zimbra mailbox.

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell or otherwise provide the app to others.
  • Modify, decompile or otherwise interfere with the app's code.
  • Remove or obscure copyright notices in the app.

Zee Mail is an independent product. It is not part of Zimbra or Zimbra, Inc., and is not endorsed by or sponsored by Zimbra.

3. Accounts and sign-in

The app uses your own Zimbra account on your organisation's server. We do not create, administer or issue email accounts; the entire account lifecycle is managed by your organisation.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. The app does not store passwords — see the Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

Use the app only for work your organisation permits, and comply with every control it applies: data classification policy, rules on personal devices, and rules on sharing information outside the organisation.

You must not use the app to:

  • Send unauthorised bulk mail, or impersonate other people.
  • Bulk-download data beyond the limits your organisation has set.
  • Access mailboxes you are not authorised to open.

5. Content you send and receive

Your mail, calendar and contacts belong to your organisation and are governed by its policies. The app displays and sends that content at your request; we have no ability to read it.

Composing mail through the app remains subject to your organisation's email security policy, including any restrictions on storage outside the organisation and on personal devices.

6. Availability

The app is provided "as is". Some features depend on how your organisation's Zimbra server is configured and may be unavailable, including SSO sign-in, the organisation-wide directory (GAL), attendee availability, and session lifetime.

Not supported in this release:

  • Two-factor authentication — the sign-in screen has no code field.
  • Instant push notifications for new mail — syncing is periodic.
  • Creating or changing folder sharing permissions from the app.
  • Pinning, snoozing and full folder management.
  • Creating, editing or deleting contacts and appointments while offline.

Current builds are intended for internal trial installation rather than public release.

7. Warranty and liability

To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the app, and to nil where you have paid nothing.

We are not liable for data loss on your organisation's Zimbra server, nor for loss arising from use of the app contrary to your organisation's rules.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. The revision date appears at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
